Message from Chef Shabo & What Comes Next ❤️

Dear Shabo’s extended family,

As we approach our final service at Shabo’s Bistro on Thursday, November 27th—Thanksgiving Day—we want to take a moment to share an important update with you. Chef Shabo has officially launched his new website: 5starcatering.org

While he is taking a well-deserved sabbatical, he will still be available for private events, catering, and cooking classes. We warmly invite you to explore the new website and stay connected as he begins this next chapter.

If at any point you no longer wish to receive updates from Chef Shabo or be part of our subscriber list, you may unsubscribe at the bottom of this email or simply reply with a request to be removed.

Thanksgiving Day at Shabo’s Bistro – Limited Availability

We still have limited reservation availability for Thanksgiving Day.
Hours: 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm
(last seating at 7:00 pm)
Please note: 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm are fully booked, but other times still have openings.

We are also accepting pick-up order bookings—just reach out to place yours.

Our Thanksgiving Menu includes:

  • Three-course traditional Thanksgiving meal – $34.95
  • A limited à la carte selection from our regular menu

Because this will be Chef’s final service, our inventory will be managed strictly based on reservations. We will not be accepting walk-ins. Please plan ahead.

What’s Next?

This is, without a doubt, our most frequently asked question.

Chef Shabo will remain in Naples and will assist the new owner for a short transition period. We kindly ask for your patience and professionalism as the new ownership team prepares to introduce themselves properly. They now have access to our social media platforms and will reach out in due time.

With Deep Gratitude

On behalf of our entire team, thank you for every year of support, every kind word, every shared post, every recommendation, and every moment you spent with us. Your loyalty helped us shine on the toughest days, and your encouragement pushed us to deliver our very best.

And to those who shared challenges or criticism—thank you as well. You helped us grow, refine our craft, and stay humble in an industry where perfection is never guaranteed. Hospitality is beautiful, but it is not always easy. Your honesty shaped us.

A Personal Note from Chef Shabo

Chef Shabo wanted to express his heartfelt appreciation to the many wonderful families and individuals he has met over the years. Though he chooses not to list names for fear of forgetting someone, he treasures:

  • Guests who attended nearly every cooking class and wine dinner
  • Patrons who visited straight from the airport
  • Families who spent every holiday meal with us
  • Those who celebrated milestones—birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, retirements
  • Book clubs, business groups, and community gatherings
  • The romantic dinners, reunions, weekend traditions, and spontaneous happy-hour escapes

We remember your favorite dishes and drinks—even the extra home-stuffed blue cheese olive in your martini.
This is not goodbye. This is “see you at the next adventure.”
Chef is staying right here in town.

A Message for the Community

As we step into this transition, please carry these reminders with you:

  • Make reservations to support your favorite restaurants.
  • Tip generously—hospitality workers rely on it.
  • Be patient with servers; they, too, have families and struggles.
  • If something goes wrong, share feedback privately first. Give the restaurant a chance to make it right.
  • Support small, local, family-owned businesses—your support matters more than you know.
  • Spread the word about places you love: leave a review, post a photo, share with friends.
  • And remember: when a restaurant is chef-owned, the chef is often working right beside the team, sometimes through double or triple shifts, especially during holidays.

Your kindness truly makes a difference.

Final Note

We were honored to see Mr. Tim Aten share news about our final week of service on his social media platforms. Feel free to check it out, comment, or share your favorite Shabo’s memory.

From our hearts to yours—thank you for being part of our story.
We look forward to welcoming you into Chef’s next chapter.

With gratitude,
The Shabo’s Bistro Team
& Chef Shabo
